| "Now that the dust has settled somewhat, and
Richmond and I have begun to catch up with our daily lives, I
just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all you did to
make our wedding day possible. It almost seems like a
dream, to be perfectly honest. And all our friends and
family are thrilled by the spontaneity of it all.
An e-mail I sent to several friends of our glorious
wedding day have caused more than a few to e-mail me back
saying that it was the most romantic thing they've ever heard,
and that we've single-handedly raised the bar for romance.
And several of them cried after reading our story. It
probably also had a lot to do with the Apache Wedding Prayer
that you recommended. It was the perfect touch.
Let me start by saying we had no intention of
getting married in Europe. Richmond started talking
about it when we were in the Netherlands, proposed at
Neuschwandstein Castle in Germany, and we started planning
things from Vienna. If it had not been for the Internet,
it would not have been possible. It was there that we
found an international company, Sédohr, that performs
weddings in Paris, as long as you provide the venue. We
found a five-star hotel in Paris, the Hotel
Intercontinental, and through their web-site found the perfect
setting in the Terrasse Fleuries, an outdoor area with a
fountain, statue, and lush greenery. The ceremony was
beautiful. The officiant did an introduction in French.
We said our vows and when it came to the part where we kissed,
we had a pleasant surprise. People were lined up around
the glassed-in area, and were even on their balconies
watching. So the whole area erupted in applause!"
